Are there any benzos that don't make you fall asleep?

I was just recently prescribed 5mg diazepam (valium) for partial seizures and the extreme anxiety that comes with it. this is only short term, until i can see a neurologist to figure out the cause of my seizures. but i'm waiting two months until my insurance kicks in. i have to take it during the day since that's when the condition is at it's worst. i've only been on it two days now and it just puts me to sleep, then i wake up anxious again, and drowsy. i haven't tried fighting the sleep since the past two days i've been off work and school. is it easy to fight it? i'm going to try that tomorrow. do you need to take it a while before the drowsiness isn't as much of a problem? i understand any medicines like this will result in sleepiness, but are there any meds like valium that work better during the day and don't make you *as* sleepy?
