Maybe someone in the dental field can help?

Last week I had a very bad toothache on my back molar, went to the dentist and they took x rays. He said i would probably need a root c on that tooth and the two teeth in front of that one. But fortunately he drilled them all today and two and very very close to the nerve, but he just filled them and he said one needs a crown, and the other could still possibly need a root c because its soo close to that nerve. My question is, my mouth isnt numb anymore but im still in pain? Could it be my gums, they have been bleeding all day and look swollen? Could the nerve be iritated from him working on it so close? I took alieve before the novocaine wore off and its not even touching the dull ache. Every once in a while ill get a shooting type pain. Is this normal? Should i call them tomorrow? Any advice?
